Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate will play a key role in our distribution operations by ensuring the accurate and efficient handling, storage, and shipment of construction equipment, supplies, and materials. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a distribution warehouse environment and will be comfortable with tasks such as order picking, loading and unloading trucks, inventory management, and ensuring the overall organization of the warehouse and will serve as a backup driver for deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving & Unloading: Safely unload incoming deliveries of construction equipment, supplies, and materials, and verify the accuracy of items received against packing lists or invoices.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick and pack orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timely preparation of construction equipment and materials for customers.
- Inventory Management: Assist with organizing and maintaining inventory, including regular cycle counts and stock level checks.
- Shipping & Loading: Prepare and load outgoing shipments in compliance with safety standards, ensuring that all orders are packed securely and accurately.
- Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring compliance with company safety standards and best practices.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as required.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete necessary paperwork for receiving, shipping, and inventory management, and assist with updating warehouse records as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse manager and other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and timely distribution of orders.
- Backup Driver: Delivery of material and equipment between warehouses and delivery material and equipment to customer facilities and jobsites when regular driver is unavailable.
Qualifications:
- License: CDL-B Required, with a clean driving record for insurability.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a distribution warehouse environment, ideally within construction equipment, materials, or a related industry.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs.), stand for extended periods, and work in various warehouse conditions (e.g., cold, hot, noisy).
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and good organizational skills.
- Equipment Knowledge: Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks is required. OSHA certification for forklift operation is a plus.
- Communication: Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Safety Minded: Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
