The QC Specialist must have demonstrated experience with fresh produce and a strong background in quality control in the food industry. Additionally, Specialists are expected to take on leadership and analytical responsibilities in the department.What you’ll do : Make informed decisions about produce quality, with consideration for quality, shrink %, shorts, and overall customer experienceAssist in training new team membersMaintain accurate inventory by conducting daily inventory counts as well as making accurate and timely inventory adjustmentsTake initiative in investigative work related to inventory discrepanciesCull / rework cases in an effort to reduce shrinkRespond to quality and inventory inquiries via emailMaintain professional decorum in communications with operations, sales, and buying teams, in-person and via emailProduce daily reports to share interdepartmentallyCover leadership responsibilities in Produce Quality Control Supervisor’s absenceAbout you : 3-5 years experience with food, especially fresh produce>
2 years warehouse experience1-2 years experience in a leadership roleOutstanding team playerFamiliarity with food safety protocolsLiteracy in basic technology, including inventory management systems, Excel spreadsheets, etc.Efficient, with attention to detailWilling to work in temperatures between 37-52 degreesAble to lift 50lbsThe above job description is not an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
