Position Summary: Participate and lead audit projects for assigned areas, including financial and operational audits/reviews, SOX 404 testing, and other projects, in accordance with acceptable audit standards and within stipulated schedules and budgets. Maintains effective working relations with company’s management and personnel.
What you’ll do:
- Participate and perform audit projects evaluating the adequacy of internal controls and operating practices for Chefs businesses, locations and corporate functions, including:
- Completing audit test procedures and work papers that support the audit findings.
- Communicating audit findings noted from the project to audit management.
- Assist with developing audit approach and testing strategy for assignments.
- Assist in preparation of internal audit reports and make recommendations for correcting unsatisfactory conditions and improving policies and standard operating procedures.
- Provide assistance to external auditors during year-end audit as assigned.
- Assist with annual internal audit risk assessment and planning procedures.
- Perform and administer special projects and departmental tasks as assigned.
- Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Ethics policies, as well as other industry-specific regulatory standards.
- 2-5 years of experience in Internal Audit and/or public accounting
- Experience with a Big 4/large regional accounting firm or large publicly traded company is desirable.
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Accounting, from an accredited university or college is preferred.
- CPA or CIA certification a plus.
- Previous experience within food service or other warehousing/distribution environment a plus.
- Strong computer skills and experience with ERP system platforms. Knowledge of ACL or other audit software a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Average travel is 30% but can be as much as 40% as needed.
