Innovative 1st Grade Teacher
Position Title: Teacher
Supervisor: Head of School
We are seeking an innovative and passionate teacher to teach at a private, non-profit, elementary school with a STEAM Based, Constructivist Curriculum that embraces Project-Based Learing and the influences of Reggio Emilia education. We are a Jewish-based school, open to all faiths and cultures, with a Board of committed community members and parents. This is an outstanding opportunity to teach in a warm, welcoming, creative and student-centered program with a low student teacher ratio.
We are interested in hiring an experienced teacher who is ready to implement dynamic, instructional strategies that will truly meet the needs of each student. We are currently accepting applications from talented educators from traditional and non-traditional programs.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Demonstrate mastery of subject matter for course(s) taught and be able to communicate that information in an engaging and creative way.
- Knowedge of a Project-Based Learning Approach
- Create lesson plans aligned with state and private school standards.
- Maintain a safe, organized classroom which supports student independent learning, collaboration, choice, and engages students using a variety of effective instructional strategies.
- Assess students and use this information for planning, instruction and differentiation.
- Use available technology/instructional media to enhance the students’ learning experiences.
- Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in a tactful and courteous manner while maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrate competence in written and oral communication.
- Exhibit warm, nurturing responses to provide for student's developmental, social and emotional needs.
- Be available to assist with occasional support duties, attend and participate in school functions and fundraisers, collaborate with colleagues and school leadership in the design and implementation of innovations within the context of the school’s overall program and mission.
- Develop, create, and modify materials and lessons that inspire and encourage students to participate in their own education (the “prepared environment”).
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth and work with administrators to formulate and complete professional development plans.
CERTIFICATION:
Applicants must be appropriately certified and highly qualified. Candidates must hold a current teaching certificate and meet the following criteria:
Elementary Teacher with Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
