The Chestnut Hill School Extended Day Program seeks creative, energetic, and professional after-school teachers for the school year. The CHS Extended Day Program provides a high-quality after-school program for Beginners - 6th Grade - offering fun, creativity, and opportunities to develop and grow.
Do you want to share your enthusiasm and excitement with kids in a fun, team-oriented setting? This is your chance to lead creative art projects, build structures in nature, and play Capture the Flag while teaching critical social and emotional skills.
CHS Extended Day provides a nurturing and fun after-school environment with a neighborhood-like atmosphere. Our daily schedule includes structured programming such as arts and crafts, sports, science, drama, special events, field trips, and unstructured "hang-out time." We strive to promote student's social and emotional development at the school by helping them gain self-confidence, positive relationships, decision-making, conflict-resolution skills, and independence. We encourage an environment that celebrates diversity and respects individual differences.
This is a part-time position, at least two days per week required. Possibility of working additional hours during school vacation weeks in December and March.
We are seeking applicants with :
- Experience working with children as young as Beginners through Grade 6 in a structured, recreational setting. Afterschool or camp experience is a plus.
- Enthusiasm, creativity, positive attitude, initiative, strong work ethic, and flexibility.
- Experience planning and running various activities such as arts and crafts, gym / outdoor games, science, & drama.
- Commitment to quality, growth, and the desire to make a difference for children and families.
- Experience in team teaching
- Ability to commit to half or all of the school year.
