Position Description : The Facilities Technician is a highly visible member of the facilities team who supports the day-to-day cleaning and general maintenance of a private elementary school in beautiful Chestnut Hill. The Technician maintains the school's various interior spaces and exterior grounds while students are on campus. This position is 40 hours per week, 12 months a year, non-exempt with overtime, and includes paid time off for sickness, holidays, and accrued vacation time.
This position requires flexibility with the work schedule, both daily and weekly. The technician should be able to work extended days and weekends as needed. This may include working late for school events, particular project work, and weather-related emergencies.
All full-time staff positions are eligible to participate in health, dental, and other benefits offered, including a retirement plan with a match after one year. The Chestnut Hill School is close to the MBTA Green Line "D" train, and paid T-passes are a benefit of employment for staff members who use this form of transportation to school.
Facilities Technician Responsibilities :
1. Plant Operations
- Troubleshoot issues with building equipment and building management system
- Perform minor plumbing work, including unclogging drains, replacing faucet washers, and toilet repairs
- Perform minor electrical work, including changing outlet plates, resetting circuit breakers, and resetting GFCI outlets
- Support the facilities and safety systems in the building - HVAC, boilers, machine rooms, fire alarm systems, security cameras, and door systems
- Setup and breakdown for special and weekend events
- Assist and support faculty, staff, students, parents, and visitors
- Complete project work as assigned by Facilities Manager
