The Program Specialist- Workforce Development serves as the primary point of contact for one or more contracted workforce development agencies and is responsible for ensuring that the programs are executed with the highest quality and efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as point of contact for assigned workforce development contractors.
- Be aware of and able to convey issues, troubleshoot and recommend solutions to contractors, Manager of Workforce Development and Director of Workforce Opportunities.
- Attends meetings as directed to workforce development activity within CHA.
- Ensures that established priorities, rules, metrics, and procedures for workforce program are followed.
- Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and contractors.
- Directly delivers or creates venues for contractors to receive training regarding CHA policy, workforce strategy, procedure and forms, and data systems.
- Assists with the facilitation of established contractor meetings in larger settings as well as within specific agencies.
- Work off site with contractors to provide oversight of staff and projects.
- Manage data entered in the system of record and submit reports timely and accurately.
- Provides technical assistance to assigned contractors related to meeting performance metrics, CHA policies, and other program requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring that assigned contractors complete and submit appropriate tracking of all activity as well as obtain and create/write necessary written reports.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
- Responds to change in a positive manner.
- May be asked to handle tasks outside of job description in order to meet broader goals of CHA, Resident Services and the WORC team.
- This position requires working hours outside of CHA's established hours of 8a-5p Monday-Friday.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration or related field and 1-2 years’ experience with workforce programs. The position requires familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Power Point and Excel) and the ability to work extensively with spreadsheets and other sources of large amounts of data and internal data systems. Requires work in the field with external partners and residents; a valid Driver's License is required. Must possess good verbal and written skills, excellent interpersonal communication and customer relation skills, be energetic, focused, and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. This position is eligible to telework 1 day per week, after a successful 90 day probation.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
