We are currently looking for a Full Time HIM Clerk to join our HIM Scanning Team team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working .
Summary:
Performs a variety of clerical functions designed to ensure continuity of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Scans documents into software
- Notifies providers/case managers per process for required scanned documents
- Picks up documents from clinics daily to be scanned into the EHR/Vista and deliver’s deficiencies to clinics daily for completion of the documentation
- In the absence of a correspondence clerk, prepares copies of patient records for patient transfers to another facility
- Maintains files, logs, and records
- Answers the phone, transfers calls, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served
- May transport items within the Chickasaw Nation with an emphasis in and around assigned area
- Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Escalates problematic issues to the next level of management for guidance in resolution of issues
- Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner
- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made
- Greets and engages with a smile
- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes
- Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
- Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
