We are currently looking for a Full Time Nutrition Coordinator to join our Area of Clinical Dietetics and Okchamalis team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.
Summary:
This position coordinates the marketing and administrative supervisory functions of the Clinical Dietetics and Okchamali’s department. This includes the creation and enhancement of a broad range of nutrition-related processes to promote an organized, friendly and efficient environment.
Responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains the nutrition education menu board and café signage
- Oversees the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) AtRisk and Summer Feeding program at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center
- Collaborates with vendors & consultants keeping record of contracts and agreements
- Oversees the procedures of the café funds, including issuing change, start bags, deposits and financial records
- Assists dietitians in the scheduling, marketing and coordinating of nutrition events
- Audits the café funds and suggests improvements ensuring financial integrity
- Trains and mentors, the cashiers
- Leads and makes sure staff follows proper food handling according to food service procedures, federal and HACCP guidelines
- Observes and monitors employee performance and addresses concerns in a positive and proactive manner
- Compiles reports, statistics and supporting information as needed for submission
- Develops and enhances the summer food feeding processes
- Collaborates with IT and finance and manages the Point of Sale (POS) register program
- Updates the POS as needed, keeping abreast the current costs and pricing needs and adjusts.
- Suggests improvement in quality and café performance
- Seeks feedback, gathers information, and suggests improvements
- Answers the phone, transfers calls, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served
- Takes care of routine matters and refers other inquiries to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains files, logs, and records
- Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information
- Submits reports to manager utilizing proper spelling, grammar, and format to meet deadlines
- Coordinates meetings, events and travel arrangements
- Assists in creating displays and informative nutrition information
- Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner
- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made
