We are currently looking for a Full Time Outreach and Training Coordinator to join our Active Aging team located at the Ada Wellness Center.
Summary:
The Outreach and Training Coordinator is responsible for providing excellent customer service to everyone they will meet. Develop and implement trainings within the Wellness and Outreach training programs.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to pass all instructor classes as needed in the program. First Aid, CPR and AED, Hands only CPR, Lifeguard, Junior Lifeguard, Basic Life Support, Babysitting and Water Safety Instructor Training and Lifeguard Instructor Training. All instructor level trainings must be completed within the first year of employment. Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and Water Safety Instructor Trainer will teach other employees to become Lifeguard Instructors and Water Safety Instructors throughout the Chickasaw Nation
- Assist the Outreach Manager in providing training and education to personnel from various departments within the Chickasaw Nation. Provide assistance to internal and external customers of facility
- Maintain schedule of the daily activities of program services offered to internal and external customers. Enters participant’s certifications and information where participants have received training through the American Red Cross website
- Maintains records of participation in health/wellness activities and prepares a report to document the program’s progress and performance
- Distributes supplies, resources and maintains inventory
- Receive and screen telephone calls for people who need assistance in the variety of classes offered through the Outreach program
- Creates opportunities for individual, groups and families who would like to participate in life saving skills either through certifications or demonstrations
- May also be asked to coach, train and instruct classes as needed throughout the Wellness Centers
- Interact and maintain professional working relationships with all other Chickasaw Nation programs
- Treat all participants with respect and maintain a cooperative attitude with other employees in the Chickasaw Nation
- Perform public relation assignments as directed by the Outreach and Training Wellness Manager
- Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner
- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made

Experience:

- 3 years directly related supervisory experience
Education:
Essential:
- High School, GED or Equivalent
- Bachelors Degree in directly related field
Nonessential:
- Associates Degree in directly related field
Essential:
- Must possess three (3-5) years of supervisory experience in a related field or position including, but not limited to certification as a CPR Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor Trainer or Water Safety Instructor Trainer
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, or other health related field
- Associates degree in one of the above-mentioned fields
Credentials:
Essential:
- Pass general background check
- Standard Driver's License
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Essential:
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or obtain within six (6) months of employment
- Must be willing to obtain certifications in other areas necessary, American Red Cross Babysitting, Basic Life Support, WSI or Lifeguarding
