We are currently looking for a Full Time Police Officer to join our Lighthorse Police Department Ada Team 2 Group 5 team located at the Lighthorse Police Department - Ada Precinct working .
Summary :
Provides law enforcement services as assigned and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities :

- Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
- Responds to calls concerning civil complaints, general public service calls, emergencies such as traffic accidents, confrontations, altercation, felonies and misdemeanors under Chickasaw Tribal Laws and Federal, State, Local and tribal laws
- Provides protection for individuals within the Chickasaw Nation properties, trust land and or restricted land allotments
- Completes investigative work and carries out successive steps and handles problems in accordance with instruction, policies, previous training. Such investigative work is frequently undertaken because of presence at remote crime scenes and / or lack of criminal investigative staff from the FBI
- Performs such assignments as participating in night surveillance in high crime areas, participating in traffic and crowd control activities as pow wows and religious ceremonies; Using breath-analyzer to determine degree of intoxication of drivers, and prepares and submits reports of incidents or traffic accidents, daily and weekly activities, and narratives and statistical reports as required
- Maintains law and order within the area of assignments by patrolling in a patrol vehicle investigating suspicious situations, and taking action as appropriate
- Makes arrest in cases of crime or misdemeanors personally witnessed; takes persons arrested to appropriate authority for booking or formal charging; serves Federal, State, local or tribal warrants, subpoenas and other court paper; testifies at hearings as an expert witness in Federal, State, local or tribal courts as required
- Enforces all laws and regulations within his / her authority related to possession, use, distribution, trafficking and manufacture of controlled substance
- Serves as training officer as directed, providing indoctrination and instruction to tribal or contract law enforcement personnel
- Independently initiates appropriate interaction with federal, state and local agencies to obtain information and / or assistance in accomplishing assignments
- Responds to, assesses and initiates investigation of a variety of criminal activity including burglary, robbery, larceny, automatic theft, assault, rape, homicide and more, deal with the full range of possible human actions, and pursue, apprehend and disarm suspected criminals
- Apprehends, arrest, and detains all person charged with violation of Chickasaw Tribal Laws, U.S. Title 18 Chapters 1152, 1153, 1164 and 1165; Tribal Law and Order Codes; Federal, State and tribal game and fish laws; and State statutes that may be applicable within Indian Country
- Where serious crimes or personal injury traffic accidents are involved, determines necessary action, notifies appropriate authorities, safeguards scenes, identifies and obtains information from witnesses, and operates other equipment, which calls for fully developed police skills
- Aggressively enforces all laws and regulations within his / her authority related to possession, use, distribution, trafficking and manufacture of controlled substance
- Administers first aid when necessary, including use of oxygen, CPR and other equipment and techniques as appropriate
- Uses breath-analyzer as appropriate
- Participates in traffic and crowd control activities such as pow wows, religious ceremonies and parades
- Prepares daily reports
