Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time Tax Compliance Auditor I to join our WinStar Accounting team located at the WinStar World Casino and Resort.
Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Independently records audits, and corrects tax department records to ensure compliance
- Compiles spreadsheets, audit notes and analyses information to determine if meets established standard policy requirements and procedures
- Observes, compares, and reviews tax department records of businesses to determine compliance with federal, state and local tax laws and regulations
- Organizes detailed financial data
- Follows and documents the audit trail in the audit file for each assigned audit
- Writes audit findings and conclusions
- Examines and verifies accuracy of data entry records including forms 1099-Misc, W-2G, and 1042-S
- Prepares weekly, quarterly and yearly tax returns as required
- Searches records to identify entries critical to tax liability or procedural propriety as it relates to internal controls and conformance to tax laws
- Educates business managers in computing and reporting tax liabilities due to federal and state regulatory agencies by explaining legal requirements, rules, regulations, and procedures
- Participates in meetings to ensure effective communication with staff, peers, supervisors and management
- Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area
- Performs all other duties as assigned
