Summary:
Parent Leaders are defined as one who is able to provide support to parents, students, teachers, and constituents in their community. Parent leadership occurs when parents gain knowledge and skills to take on leadership roles and represent the parent voice. They collaborate, coordinate, organize, lead and assist with various activities within the school community. Parent Leaders also collaborate with the PTA to promote Literacy based initiatives, they are key leaders in promoting the development and sustainability of the school’s literacy program. They collaborate with school leadership to uphold the values and vision of the school to advance student outcomes for all students.

Essential Functions:
- Provide support with the school day arrivals and Dismissals
- Oversee the late student arrival process and provide support
- Make out reach calls for students who are absent or late
- Assist with outreach calls to parent
- Create fliers, handout, documents on an as needed basis
- Support staff with supervision during student’s lunch periods
- Supervise and monitor children as a backup to staff
- Report and document any misconduct, accidents, incidents and/ or facility issues to program administrators as per school policy
- Demonstrate ability to work as a member of a team
- Plan parent event and activities
- Suggest necessary materials and Maintains supplies.
- Assists in data collection and upkeep of participant’s documents as directed.
- Attend all PTA, SLT, and other plan parent meetings or events
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain Positive interactions with staff, students and general parent population
