Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and conducting medical reviews. Additionally, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides patient education, consultation, and follow-up under the supervision of the staff psychiatrist and medical director.

Essential Functions:
Identifies evaluates and addresses psychiatric and/or substance abuse behavioral health issues.
Conducts medical assessment reviews of all enrolled clients; coordinating and referring for specialized care when indicated.
Provides psycho-education to clients and/or families about preventive care, substance abuse, psychiatric or medical issues, and the use of prescribed medications with their possible side effects.
Documents all psychiatric and/or substance abuse evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education & referrals consistent with state and city regulatory standards.
Directs medication management sessions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program.
Graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree Program as a Nurse.
A practitioner with current New York State licensure.
Psychiatric experience.
Extensive training and/or experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Knowledge of insurance/managed care process.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Qualifications Preferred:
Expertise in working with children, adolescents, and young adults.
Bilingual in one or more of the following: Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali, and others based on client needs.
