Position Summary
The Vocational Coordinator is responsible for the development and execution of the workforce development and internship component of programming including conducting vocational assessments, facilitating career readiness workshops, and cultivating internship placement sites and relationships.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts vocational assessments for applicants by utilizing background information and work experiences.
- Develops an individual employment (and/or education) plan with participants.
- Provides ongoing group and individual vocational-related counseling and/or training to enrolled clients.
- Develops internship opportunities in various professional and technical workforce areas while cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with site supervisors.
- Works in collaboration with other program staff and stakeholders to develop workshop and internship experiences that meet the needs and interest of program participants.
- Facilitates career readiness workshops, career fairs, and other experiences to develop work readiness skills of participants.
- Assists in administration of performance-based tests, evaluations, enrollment, etc.
- Keeps all paper and digital records up to date and in good order.
- Meet performance expectations/metrics, as defined for the position within program.
- Assists the program director in leading program staff to success by sharing supervisory and administrative responsibilities as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise program participant interns and other internship-related staff members.
- Assist Program Director with program oversight including supervisory and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field.
- Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali and others, may be required depending on client needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
- Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.
Qualifications Preferred:
- CRC.
- Prior experience working with adolescents and young adults in a vocational or human services setting.
