The Youth Advocate is responsible for the ongoing care and supervision of the residents in all phases of their lives in the facility.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for help the adolescents learn and master the basic activities of daily living, including social interaction, educational and vocational advancement, developing interpersonal relationships with peers and adults, and emotional growth and satisfaction
- Mediate verbal disputes, as well as model for the adolescents how to behave with each other in a respectful, socially acceptable way
- May serve as therapists or co-therapists in group or other special treatment situations
- Other related duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with adolescents
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health field
- Prior experience working with emotionally disturbed adolescents
