Summary
The Respite Care Worker is responsible for providing temporary care to young people, with offering a necessary respite to the parent and / or caregiver, thereby alleviating home stress and enhancing family harmony.
Essential Functions :
- Work with children who have Serious Emotional Disturbance (S.E.D.) in community and / or home environments.
- Supervises and engages the child in recreational activities which support the child's constructive interests and abilities.
- Works in collaboration with the Health Home providers and parents to ensure that the child's needs are met when engaged in respite care activities.
- Documents services provided within 48 hours of service delivery.
- Maintains open communication with child and family related to planned activities, observed behavior, etc.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
