The Child Center Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) is a coeducational program in a warm, supportive environment that serves young people ages 12-18 who have had multiple psychiatric hospital placements or have been involved with the juvenile justice system. It is the only downstate RTF in the state that is a dual NYS Office of Mental Health/Office of Children and Family Services facility. We never consider it too late to give young people the help they need, and we are pleased to partner with these two agencies to ensure the young people in our care have the skills and support they need to achieve long-term success. Reflecting The Child Center’s dedication to comprehensive care, the RTF is staffed by clinical coordinators, psychiatric providers, a pediatrician, and 24-hour nursing staff, 24 hour youth advocates. Supports are individualized and tailored to the needs of the young people.

- Organizing the schedule of regular unit activities, community meetings, clean-up, treatment planning etc.
- Determining on a day-to-day basis what level of supervision is required by each youngster and assuring that this supervision is provided and that youngsters safety is assured
- Determining what disciplinary actions or restrictions of activity may be clinically appropriate to maintain safety and order on the unit. Approving plans for youngsters' participation in all outside activities, including home visits and school trips, and special events within the facility
- Daily inspection of the physical plant to assure maintenance of a pleasant and safe physical environment on the unit
- Weekly review and charting of level of supervision of each youngster Assisting in investigation of incidents and untoward events, and in preparation and assessment of quality improvement indicators
- On-going on-site supervision of job performance of each Senior Youth Advocate
- Participating in staffing decisions including hiring, transfers, and staff disciplinary actions affecting the unit staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelors Degree focus in Social Service related field
- 3-5 years of Supervision
- Experience working within a Residential program or OMH Program.
