The Manager of Data and Evaluation will oversee the agency's data management and outcome evaluation processes, support organizational decision-making and continuous improvement. This position works closely with program leadership to ensure high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting systems that align with grant and strategic priorities. Responsible for implementing a unified data system for the agency and providing high-level analysis on impact and community trends. This full-time position is accountable to the Chief Operations Officer and serves as a key collaborator across departments.
Supervision Exercised: Assigned Analysts, Coordinators, and Specialists.
Duties
- Oversee data collection, management, and analysis related to program outcomes, participant demographics, and other relevant metrics for all programs.
- Manage the implementation of a unified data system for the agency, ensuring integration with existing systems and processes.
- Collaborate with program leadership to identify key performance indicators and establish benchmarks for success.
- Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of programs.
- Produce high-quality reports and presentations with visualizations to effectively communicate outcomes and trends to internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with executive and program leadership to ensure system alignment, data integrity, and continued development of a unified data system.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative evaluations, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
- Perform regular audits of data systems and processes to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
- Train and support staff on data collection, documentation, and analysis techniques.
- Provide support and documentation for grant-related data needs, including writing and reporting.
- Ensure legal and organizational compliance regarding data privacy and security standards.
- Manage security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and organization compliance; act as HIPAA compliance specialist helping to assure internal controls are monitored and digital databases meet privacy regulations
- Identify new opportunities to improve systems, tools, and processes for more effective outcome measurement.
- Represent the agency’s data strategy and progress in internal meetings and with external partners as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices in data analytics, outcomes reporting, and nonprofit evaluation.
- Contribute to the success of the agency’s mission, strategic focus areas, and overall goals.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in data analytics, program evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills Required
Knowledge of:
- Data management systems, program evaluation, and outcome reporting in a nonprofit or human services setting.
- Visualizing and communicating data insights effectively to diverse audiences.
- Excel, and other data tools preferred.
- SQL and AI applications in data analysis, preferred
- Grant-related data requirements and compliance.
Ability to:
- Interpret and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
- Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness.
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively both verbally and in writing.
- Collaborate effectively across departments and with leadership teams.
- Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide training and support to staff with varying levels of data literacy.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
Special Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management and program evaluation.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervision and team leadership.
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid Nevada Driver’s License, and insurance if using a personal vehicle for work.
- May require some evening and weekend work.
- Job requires repetitive key stroking; ability to sit for long periods (2 hours); must be able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
- Able to use office equipment (phones, fax, copier, mail meter, etc.).
