Summary: The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for leading private grant and foundation request development, as well as implementing and overseeing fundraising and community relations strategies in Las Vegas. This role plays a critical part in identifying and securing funding opportunities, managing donor relationships, and elevating the organization’s presence in the community. The Donor Relations Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals and mission. The position reports directly to the Donor Relations Director and works with staff at all levels of the organization as well as with board trustees, donors, the business community, and volunteers. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday, eligible for benefits, with the possibility of nights and weekends.

Supervision: Student interns and community volunteers, as needed.

Duties:

  • Work closely with the Donor Relations Team to meet goals in fundraising, donor retention, and development to fuel The Children’s Cabinet’s mission of keeping children safe and families together.
  • Lead the development and submission of all private grant and foundation requests, including research, writing, and reporting.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grant workflow process to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and other teams to gather relevant data, budgets, and documentation for proposals and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and foundation requirements for grants.
  • Develop and execute strategies to foster donor relationships, including stewardship, recognition, and donor retention.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of individual and corporate donors in the Las Vegas area.
  • Identify new donor prospects and implement tailored engagement strategies.
  • Oversee donor communications, including proposals, acknowledgments, and updates.
  • Work with Donor Relations and Marketing teams to create and implement cohesive donor communications that align with the organization’s mission and voice.
  • Support the Director and leadership team in donor cultivation and solicitation activities.
  • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to raise awareness and build connections.
  • Collaborate with the development team on events such as fundraisers and community outreach programs.
  • Maintain accurate donor and grant information within the CRM system.
  • Analyze fundraising metrics and trends to assess progress toward annual goals.
  • Understand the agency’s mission, overall goals, programs, and objectives to be able to effectively communicate to the public.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Needed:

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with executives, volunteers, donors, and staff.
  • The ability to work well under pressure, to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and manage work under tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, community leaders, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • A high level of computer competency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and mail merging.
  • Experience with Donor software systems, Canva, and social media is a plus.
  • Knowledge of community-based agencies and resources

Ability to:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities to foster trust and engagement with supporters.
  • Active listening skills to understand and respond to the needs of donors and volunteers.
  • Analyze data and draw conclusions regarding trends and areas for improvement.

Special Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree OR relevant work experience preferably in a customer service, nonprofit, or administrative role. Be able to pass a background check.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, including at least 3 years of experience in grant writing
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to get to and from work, events, and errands.
  • Must possess a valid Nevada Driver's license, proof of insurance for utilizing a personal vehicle for company business, and a clean driving record.
  • Must be capable of fulfilling all the physical aspects of the job including but not limited to: being able to lift and carry 50 lbs.; able to walk up and down stairs, repetitive keystroking (initiating and responding to e-mails; typing copy, etc.)
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends. Some travel required; office visits and/or training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
