Position: Regional Quality Coordinator - Early Childhood Support Network

Pay Rate: $26.27 - $27.27 Status: Non-Exempt


Definition

The coordinator’s primary function is to implement regional ECSN service in greater Reno/Sparks/Carson City/Elko area or the greater Las Vegas Metropolitan area. This position provides supervision and training to ECSN staff.

Duties

  • Participates in hiring SEED program staff and provides direct supervision (including routine observations and child care regulation compliance), evaluation and professional development of assigned staff.
  • Monitor ECSN phone daily, from approximately 7:00am to 3:00pm. Respond to requests for ECSN services; this includes scheduling and cancelling staff (as requested) to specific licensed day care and family care giving settings.
  • Prepare documentation of services provided (includes dates, staffing and hours of service provided) to submit to the Program Manager for invoicing to clients.
  • Recruit/enroll providers for participation in the ECSN program.
  • Stays abreast of the latest data and research as it relates to early childhood, child care workforce and work and family issues. In addition, ensures that all services provided and curriculum and resources used/developed meets latest research and best practices.
  • Achieve a working knowledge of the budget for all specific activities and works with the program manager to achieve objectives within budgeted amounts.
  • Works with program manager to develop, implement, evaluate and revise the Annual Provider Education and Engagement Plan and other applicable plans.
  • Provides educational information that supports school readiness and best practices to child care providers, and the larger community in accordance with annual plans.
  • Role models developmentally appropriate practices with children.
  • Maintains or ensures that statistical information is gathered for performance outcomes.
  • Participates on assigned early childhood related committees and/or boards encouraging a unified message on ECE issues and identified activities.
  • Communicates services and key Early Childhood Educations (ECE) messages in presentations, trainings, referrals and outreach in accordance with annual plan.
  • Achieve an understanding of agency mission, strategic focus areas and overall goals and objectives. Contribute to the success of these areas.
  • Read, understand, and apply all agency and department policy and procedures set forth in both the Agency Handbook and SEED Program Manual.
  • Perform other tasks as required/assigned for adequate administration of program and in the interest of the agency.

Minimum Qualifications Needed

Knowledge of:

  • Early childhood education principles and practices.
  • Positive parenting concepts and work/life supports for families.
  • Community services for families.
  • Computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, data base programs, etc., and the desire to learn new programs.
  • Childcare licensing regulations statewide.

Ability to:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely both in writing and verbally.
  • Be organized and use effective time management.
  • Use outstanding customer service skills.
  • Work with adults of diverse backgrounds and beliefs and adapt service delivery accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and community agencies.

Special Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood, human services or other closely related field.
  • Ideal candidate will be a minimum of a 5.2 on the Nevada Registry career ladder and meet eligibility requirements to become a Nevada Registry Trainer. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • At least three years of experience in early childhood field. 
  • At least two years' experience of supervisory experience. 
  • Must have reliable vehicle for work.
  • May be required to work some evenings and weekends.
  • May be required to travel in state and out of state for meetings or training. 
  • Job requires repetitive key stroking; ability to sit for long periods (2 hours ) 
  • Be physically capable of performing all job duties including standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, having the ability to sit on the floor and get back up, and lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
  • Able to pass complete background check.
  • Must possess a valid Nevada's Driver's License and proof of insurance for utilizing a personal vehicle for company business
