Market Specialist
The Market Program Assistant plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of The Children's Cabinet Market, a choice-based pantry supporting food and basic needs security for families and young adults. This position is responsible for inventory control, ordering, donation management, volunteer supervision, and client interaction. The Specialist ensures that the Market maintains compliance with all food safety regulations, remains well-stocked, and operates with efficiency, dignity, and client-centered care. This elevated role also supports data reporting and partnership coordination related to inventory and seasonal distribution events.

Duties
- Submit weekly food orders and manage procurement in alignment with inventory levels and client usage patterns.
- Accept, organize, and store deliveries and donations from suppliers and community partners, ensuring accuracy and food safety compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records of food, hygiene items, and clothing; perform regular audits and communicate inventory needs proactively.
- Receive and document all monetary and in-kind donations according to agency policy.
- Prepare and distribute weekly Market Menus and ensure clear labeling and accessibility of items for clients.
- Monitor expiration dates and manage product rotation to prevent waste and ensure safety.
- Coordinate all Market volunteer activities including onboarding, scheduling, and day-of supervision in collaboration with the Donor Relations team.
- Lead preparation and distribution of pre-packaged and choice-model family bags and individual client orders.
- Support seasonal initiatives (e.g., Thanksgiving meals, holiday gift drives) by managing enrollment, preparing distributions, and coordinating donations.
- Ensure the Market is clean, organized, and in compliance with all local and federal food safety standards, including TEFAP and SNAP Outreach guidelines.
- Complete monthly TEFAP reports and maintain other required compliance documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist clients in a respectful, empowering manner.
- Participate in team meetings, program planning, and other organizational efforts as needed.
- Align work with the mission, values, and strategic goals of The Children's Cabinet.

Special Requirements
- High school/GED required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
- Must possess a valid Nevada Driver's License, and proof of insurance if utilizing a personal vehicle for company business
- Be physically capable of performing all job duties. This may include lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs., walking up and down stairs, and data entry requiring repetitive typing motion
License or Certificate
- Able to pass complete background check.
- Willing to obtain required medical screen and immunizations such as TB test, Hepatitis, etc.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday Morning shift - Part time 9:00am - 2:00pm
