This is a Clinical Internship opportunity for Master's level students.
Position Summary:
The Clinical Intern will be responsible for clinical services and general case management within the context of a treatment team for youth and families served by The Children’s Center of Hamden. In this position the Clinical Intern will be responsible for providing various types of counseling and therapy to youth and families. The Clinical Intern is part of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing information, strategies and a clinical perspective, along with promoting teamwork in the treatment of youth. The Clinical Intern will be the liaison to outside agencies and personnel; DCF, hospitals, insurance/managed care, the legal system, private consultants, etc. The Clinical Intern will be accountable to the Director of Clinical Services. The Clinical Intern is expected to maintain appropriate personal boundaries with all people while on shift. The Clinical Intern is expected to be sensitive to a culturally diverse population. The Clinical Intern will be expected to perform other related duties.
