POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant will assist the nursing department by coordinating, arranging and providing transportation to medical appointments for clients in residential treatment. The Medical Assistant will work under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor and Director of Nursing and will act as a liaison between the clinic and other agency programs. They will be accountable to ensure the timely delivery of health services and are expected to have the expertise to fulfill their job responsibilities. The Medical Assistant is expected to maintain appropriate personal boundaries with all people while on shift, is expected to be sensitive to a culturally diverse population and is expected to perform other related duties as assigned. |

Accountable and responsible for the following results: - Transports clients to medical appointments.
- Schedules for medical appointments.
- Maintains and updates medical records (Electronic Health Record).
- Scans medical records in the Electronic Health Record.
- Answers phones and documents incoming messages.
- Provides nail care to clients as needed.
- Performs all vital signs on clients monthly.
- Maintains emergency medical equipment.
- Maintains infection control data.
- Educates clients on medications, hygiene, and other curriculum lessons as directed.
- Maintains all required agency mandatory trainings.
- Participates in staff and departmental meetings, in-service training programs, and attends meetings as required.
- Maintains appropriate personal boundaries with young people and the families being served.
- Stay current with all certifications and training requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS | - Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
- Ability to multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a behavioral health treatment setting and in pediatrics preferred.
