This position offers a starting salary range of $46,950 - $56,340 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Children’s Center of Wayne County (TCC) is home to specialized clinical, foster care, and support services.

We lead the way in working with children who struggle with behavioral, emotional, educational, intellectual, and developmental challenges.  We treat the whole child, focusing on multiple family issues so we can provide the best, most comprehensive integrated care. We examine barriers in the home, school, and community, working with the family who raises the child/youth, as well as the community organizations that support them.

Job Summary

Must have prior experience in providing and managing mental/behavioral health services and Evidence-Based Practices preferred. A minimum of 1 year experience in a program that diagnoses, evaluates, and treats minors and their families in a community-based setting as needed.  Have previous experience using an electronic medical records system preferred.  Demonstrate knowledge of person-centered planning and family centered practices.   Prior experience or the ability to work with a variety of service providers employing a system-of-care philosophy.  Demonstrate basic computer skills related to windows navigation, Microsoft Office and general office equipment.  Be able to work effectively both independently and with an interdisciplinary team.  Manage time and information effectively.  Meet deadlines.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related human service field such as social work, psychology, or/and counseling.
  • Meet and maintain eligibility criteria to be credentialed as a Child Mental Health Professional "CMHP" per the MDCH Qualifications Guidelines. 
  • Must be able to provide clearance that there is no record and/or convictions as a perpetrator of child abuse and/or neglect in the State of Michigan Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry and other states of residency over the past 5 years.
  • This position requires driving to client appointments and other community events, therefore you must be able to provide proof of having a current, valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
  • CAFAS or PECFAS Certification a plus.

Essential Functions

  • In collaboration with the family, work with other internal and external partners (i.e. schools, faith community, other human services organizations) to develop natural supports to eliminate barriers to services, enhance existing community services or develop new services based on the needs of The Children's Center families.
  • Provide parents and caregivers with information and resources pertaining to child and family development, facilitate opportunities for parent education, coaching and training.
  • Help to create opportunities for children and families to experience safe, developmentally appropriate social, educational and recreational activities.
  • Facilitation, monitoring and ongoing evaluation of the Wraparound process in partnership with assigned families.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule in order to appropriately deliver services to meet client needs in the home, school, community or agency and by working evening and weekends.
  • Link and refer families with "categorical" community services and other resources to assist with basic needs, including, but not limited to food, clothing, shelter, and childcare.
  • Provide transportation assistance and/or transport clients as needed.
  • If certified in a clinical model of practice, staff must maintain certification in and participate in all training and program requirements to assure model fidelity for any Evidence Based, Promising and/or Best Practice Models.

  • Always collaborate and maintain professional standards while conducting agency business.
  • Develop Performance Goals and Expectations with immediate supervisor annually.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to traverse stairs and other uneven terrain to gain access to and to maneuver throughout offsite locations including residential homes, office buildings and special event locations.
  • Ability to prepare and inspect documents in hard copy or electronic format. Ability to tolerate exposure to computer screens and operate computer/keyboard and other office equipment on a frequent and/or continuous basis.
  • Ability to receive and exchange information and accurately and effectively communicate and converse with others.
  • Ability to lift to 10 Lbs.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Caseload Maintenance: 100% of active community-based clients have a scheduled appointment on a monthly basis using the metric of unique clients seen.
  • Core Values: Uphold the agency’s core values and will have no more than two disciplinary actions related to core values concerns.
  • Documentation Compliance: Ensure that progress notes and SALS (including treatment plans and assessments) are completed with less than 3 infractions per month in accordance with the policy.
  • Required Supervision: Active participation in supervision, no less than on a bi-weekly basis, or consistent with regulatory standards.
  • Required Training: Attend the required Agency and regulatory trainings and additional trainings based upon your position.
