What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Front Desk position at The Children's Clinic of Nashville?
Position Responsibilities:
- Answer multi-line phone and direct caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller’s needs.
- Take detailed messages for doctors and staff.
- Patient registration via electronic health record. This includes verifying benefits, obtaining referrals, authorizations and posting charges.
- Schedule patient appointments via EHR.
- Greet patients upon arrival, arrive patient and obtain insurance and necessary documentation.
- Process payments from patients.
- Appointment reminder phone calls.
- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain business inventory.
- Maintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff and patient information.
Requirements for the position:
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Insurance knowledge and insurance verification experience.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology. HIPAA regulations, ICD and CPT coding highly advantageous.
- Experience in Medical receptionist, insurance verification, or scheduler role.
- Excellent documentation, communication and IT skills.
Specifics:
- Hours: 40hrs per week.
- Required to work one to two Saturdays a month. Saturday office hours are 9am-11:30am.
- One day a week to work until 5:30pm if needed.
