The Associate Accountant is responsible for the general accounting functions. Analyze accuracy and completeness of financial information, assisting with monthly / annual financial close process and annual audit, and payroll as needed.
Ill. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in monthly GL reconciliations
- Assists with Accounts Receivable Deposits as needed.
- Assists, reviews and ensures accurate computation of pay and interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures
- Prepares and distributes the organization's bi-weekly payrolls by established deadlines
- Reviews and ensures accurate computation of pay and interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures
- Assists with month-end and year-end closing to ensure Financial Statements are in accordance with GAAP
- Assists with annual audit and other grant audits as needed
- Assists with preparation of entries as needed to record grants expenses.
- Assists with grant accounting as needed, including budgeting, reporting and invoicing.
- Monitors A / Raging for grants and coordinates payments issues with funder
- Assists with preparing other regulatory reporting as applicable
- Follows methods or established policies and procedures to maintain the efficiency of the finance department and Recommends changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the Accounting function
- Maintains and protects organization's confidentiality by keeping information confidential
- Performs other duties and financial projects as assigned by Supervisor and / or the Director of Finance / CFO
