Overview
The role of the FFT FC Clinician is critical to the successful implementation of the FFT FC Model. The Clinician is responsible for engaging the child, birth family, and foster family. This includes supervised visitation and early engagement around reunification while ensuring adherence to the evidence-based model.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments, including reviewing referral information, identifying key participants, and assessing protective and risk factors.
- Develop relational assessments and analyze family hierarchies.
- Provide FFT FC model-adherent interventions to address clinical needs.
- Complete all required documentation, including Care4 documentation and treatment plans.
- Schedule the first session within one business day of assignment.
- Continuously assess engagement levels and collaborate with stakeholders to address barriers.
- Maintain model-adherent session documentation and collateral contacts for supervisory review.
- Document all client interactions in Care4 within two business days.
- Conduct ongoing model-specific and foster care-adherent risk assessments and interventions.
- Implement tailored safety planning, crisis management, and interventions to increase protective factors.
- Keep stakeholders informed of elevated risks and attend family court appearances and administrative case reviews.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Record video sessions for FFT consultation and certification.
- Attend all required model and agency training, peer supervision, and staff meetings.
- Independently organize and manage weekly schedules while keeping the supervisor informed.
- Provide supervised visitation to birth families.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- Licensed in their field of study (LMFT, LPCA, LCSW, LMSW).
- At least one year of experience providing clinical services to children and families.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of home-based therapy, family systems theory, and cognitive-behavioral therapies.
- Understanding of trauma reactions, emotional dysregulation, and brain development.
- Experience addressing racial disparities within behavioral health services.
- Familiarity with child development research and its application in treatment.
Supervisory Responsibility
None.
Expected Hours of Work
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility for a rotating on-call schedule.
