Overview
Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Family Support Provider is responsible for providing strength-based, comprehensive home visiting services and implementing an evidence-based parenting curriculum. This role involves working directly with families in their homes, supporting parents and caregivers, and helping to strengthen family dynamics. The Family Support Provider must be knowledgeable about community services and equipped to engage with people of different ages, life stages, and diverse cultural backgrounds, often facing challenging circumstances. This position is part of the Baby&MeCT program and operates within community and home environments.
Responsibilities
- Deliver strength-based home visiting services that support family well-being and development.
- Implement an evidence-based parenting curriculum tailored to family needs.
- Conduct assessments to identify family strengths, needs, and goals.
- Provide families with relevant resources and referrals to community services.
- Engage with families from diverse cultural backgrounds in a respectful and culturally competent manner.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay current on best practices in family support.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Social Work highly preferred.
- Minimum of two years of supervised, relevant work experience.
- Experience working with vulnerable children and families.
- Knowledge or experience in Infant Mental Health and Early Childhood.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build supportive relationships.
- Time management skills to effectively manage home visits and documentation.
- Computer literacy for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
