Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefit Associate who will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. The role includes management of all employee benefit enrollments and changes, including health, life, and disability insurances, retirement plans, paid time off, and worker’s compensation. The associate collaborates closely with the individuals responsible for financial management and employee onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Review and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
- Review and reconcile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation and sick time, and all voluntary payroll deductions such as 403(b) contributions.
- Maintain employee database.
- Prepare and record bi-weekly payroll entry into the general ledger software and complete the payroll accrual worksheet for finance department.
- Facilitate the organization’s worker’s compensation program and maintain a record of claims.
- Monitor and coordinate necessary documentation for unemployment requests and issues.
- Coordinate with external brokers to facilitate annual employee benefit open enrollment and maintain benefit enrollment/disenrollment transactions throughout the year.
- Gather and maintain necessary employment documentation for staff financial records such as I9, W4, direct deposit, and other documents as required by regulation.
- Assist with the preparation of various reports for regulatory agencies as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required, preferred education in business and/or at least three (3) years of experience in an office environment.
- Sufficient knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft 365, and payroll systems.
- A high degree of integrity, sound judgement, and interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt readily, multi-task, and handle confidential matters.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
