Accounting Manager
We have a one-of-a-kind opportunity for a dynamic, innovative, self-starting, and thorough individual with an Accounting or Financial background to assume the position of Accounting Manager in an integrative agency that works with three government oversites: OCFS, SED, and Federally funded aid. These unique programs are dedicated to addressing the needs of children who have gone through traumatic experiences in their lives.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Department and is a member of the Finance Committee.
Job duties include:
- Experience with OCFS and SED rate setting and reporting requirements, including preparation of annual SSOP and CFR.
- Efficiently manage billing process within various funding streams.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Able to work with a team in a practical, professional manner at all times.
- Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs.
- Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis, including for small businesses.
- Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Performing account reconciliations.
- Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management.
- Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit.
- Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data.
- Supporting other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure.
Minimum Education & Experience:
- MBA, CPA, or equivalent experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
- 3-5 years of finance experience in a non-profit environment.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience.
- Computer fluency in a variety of software applications.
