The CPO oversees and manages all day-to-day activities, ensuring that the organization's needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively.

One of the primary responsibilities of a CPO is developing and implementing strategic agency plans. This involves analyzing the agency's current and future needs, evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and implementing strategies that align with the agency's goals. The CPO works closely with various departments to understand their requirements and find the best solutions to meet those needs.

Additionally, the CPO is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers. They monitor supplier performance, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure that suppliers meet the agency's quality and delivery requirements. Keeping up with market trends and industry best practices is also essential, as the CPO needs to stay aware of new technologies, innovations, and regulations that could impact processes.

The CPO is also responsible for managing the agency's department directors. This involves setting performance targets and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. The CPO leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and strong negotiation skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Management

5 years' experience in a non-profit setting or government setting

2 Years of managing Director-level supervisors

2 Years working with state-funded contracts
