Cost Accountant
We have a one-of-a-kind opportunity for a dynamic, innovative, self-starting, and thorough individual with an Accounting or Financial background to assume the position of Cost Accountant in an integrative agency that works with three government oversites : OCFS, SED, and Federally funded aid. These unique programs are dedicated to addressing the needs of children who have gone through traumatic experiences in their lives.
The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Department, including an Accountant, and is a member of the Finance Committee.
Job duties include :
- Provide finance reports to the Board Finance committee and finance updates to various departments on a monthly basis
- Experience with OCFS and SED rate setting and reporting requirements, including preparation of annual SSOP and CFR
- Assist Management staff with the budget process
- Efficiently manage billing process within various funding streams
- Provide leadership during the auditing process
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
- Able to work with a team in a practical, professional manner at all times
- Managing the company's balance sheet and accounting books
- Supporting other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure
- Collecting and analyzing data about a company's operational costs
- Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
Minimum Education & Experience :
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or Master's Degree in Management Accounting or Finance
Certified Management Accountants (CMA) or Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) are preferred.
3-5 years experience in a non-profit environment
Minimum of 1-2 years of leadership experience
Computer fluency in a variety of software applications
