Position Summary :
Reporting to the Program Director, the Lead Clinician coordinates clinical services providing direct supervision to clinicians as they assess and evaluate residents' mental health and provide therapeutic counseling to individual clients, and groups. The Lead Clinician also provides ongoing staff training by providing updated information / best practice research and regulatory updates pertaining to human trafficking concerns and crisis intervention services.
Duties / Responsibilities :
In a manner consistent with CHK's Mission Statement and applicable laws and regulations, an employee in this position shall :
- This role includes direct supervision of clinicians and participating in an on-call schedule.
- Support and supervise clinicians with service delivery, documentation, and client-related issues.
- Conduct training during the onboarding process for new staff and continually, as needed.
- Provide individual supervision to clinical staff while working to build a cohesive team and maintain positive staff morale.
- Provide individual counseling sessions based on caseload and / or coverage needs.
- Helps provide a comprehensive orientation for UCs regarding program intent, services, rules, expectations, and the availability of legal assistance.
- Oversees mental health assessments when conducted and assists clinicians in the development and implementation of individualized treatment and crisis management plans for youth.
- Oversees the individual and group therapy interventions utilized for each child and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and the accuracy to modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation of the provision of services in case files (both written and electronic). In conjunction with the Compliance Manager, conducts chart reviews and audits.
- For the protection of all youth and staff ensures the immediate reporting of any knowledge or suspicion of sexual abuse, sexual harassment, inappropriate sexual behavior, and staff code of conduct violations. This may include timely submission of a SA / SIR, notification to appropriate providers, and / or assistance with investigations.
- Participates in team meetings by assuming expected role on the team and maintaining collaborative relations with other members.
- Effectively builds relationships with other external stakeholders in order to assist with information sharing and service provision. This includes participating in case conferences, discharge planning meetings, and any other service-related meetings needed to ensure the timely release of the UC.
- Assists in the provision of in-service training to enhance Clinician's and other inter-disciplinary team member's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Performs other related administrative and professional duties as required.
