Lead LMSW or LCSW Clinician

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Program Director, the Lead Clinician coordinates clinical services providing direct supervision to clinicians as they assess and evaluate residents' mental health and provide therapeutic counseling to individual clients, and groups. The Lead Clinician also provides ongoing staff training by providing updated information/best practice research and regulatory updates pertaining to human trafficking concerns and crisis intervention services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

In a manner consistent with CHK's Mission Statement and applicable laws and regulations,

an employee in this position shall:

• This role includes direct supervision of clinicians and participating in an on-call schedule.
• Support and supervise clinicians with service delivery, documentation, and client-related issues.
• Conduct training during the onboarding process for new staff and continually, as needed.
• Provide individual supervision to clinical staff while working to build a cohesive team and maintain positive staff morale.
• Provide individual counseling sessions based on caseload and/or coverage needs.
• Helps provide a comprehensive orientation for UCs regarding program intent, services, rules, expectations, and the availability of legal assistance.
• Oversees mental health assessments when conducted and assists clinicians in the development and implementation of individualized treatment and crisis management plans for youth.
• Oversees the individual and group therapy interventions utilized for each child and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and the accuracy to modify treatment plans as necessary.
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation of the provision of services in case files (both written and electronic). In conjunction with the Compliance Manager, conducts chart reviews and audits.
• For the protection of all youth and staff ensures the immediate reporting of any knowledge or suspicion of sexual abuse, sexual harassment, inappropriate sexual behavior, and staff code of conduct violations. This may include timely submission of a SA/SIR, notification to appropriate providers, and/or assistance with investigations.
• Participates in team meetings by assuming expected role on the team and maintaining collaborative relations with other members.
• Effectively builds relationships with other external stakeholders in order to assist with information sharing and service provision. This includes participating in case conferences, discharge planning meetings, and any other service-related meetings needed to ensure the timely release of the UC.
• Assists in the provision of in-service training to enhance Clinician's and other inter-disciplinary team member's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Performs other related administrative and professional duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

1. Knowledge:

• Thorough knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of psychiatric disorders.
• Thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices for working with traumatized/exploited children.
• Knowledge of ORR regulations and guidelines concerning the provision of psychological services to children in residential shelters.
• Knowledge of relevant Agency policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with HIPAA standards and the maintenance of confidential, sensitive, and protected information.

1. Physical Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to sit and use a personal computer for extended periods.
• Ability to access all program locations and to climb stairs.
• Ability to respond to site emergencies.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.

1. Mental Skills and Abilities:

• Bilingual in Spanish and have excellent bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred.
• Ability to interpret symptoms, diagnose emotional and behavioral disorders, and determine appropriate methods of treatment.
• Ability to develop and maintain required written clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive rapport and effective working relationships with the youth, sponsors and team of providers and administrators.
• High level of emotional intelligence.
• Ability to establish priorities and direct subordinate staff working on a range of concurrent tasks and activities.
• Ability to analyze data reports to discern trends and patterns and take appropriate action.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in social work and 2 years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience
• Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) or Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Licensure to provide clinical services or eligible to obtain professional licensure or registration, if applicable
• Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
• Supervisory experience in direct service delivery with the ability to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities.
• Ability to learn Electronic Health Record/ UC Portal
• Excellent organizational/communication skills.
• You possess or will be able to obtain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification.
• A valid NYS Driver's License preferred.

Salary : $62,000 - $65,000
