What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Campus Security position at The Children's Home of Kingston?
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Residential Services, the Campus Security position insures the harmonious and safe daily conduct of the groups, and the overall care and well-being of Children's Home of Kingston.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-3:00pm with weekend availability.
Duties Include:
- Oversees the safety and security of the entire campus
- Regularly do random checks of the campus and completes thorough walk through of cottages
- Oversee the safety of the campus pool when in season
- Assist with crisis intervention as needed
- Manages the use of Agency vehicles
- Supervises the CHK Staff's arrival and departures on campus
- Monitors campus security systems (camera's and alarm systems)
- Provides leadership and guidance to residential services staff
- Develops and maintains an active, visible and positive CHK presence throughout the campus
- In conjunction with various building and cottage supervisory staff, assures preparation of all campus residential staff scheduling, including approval of any required overtime staffing
- Gives a written summary of the Child Care Workers' performance and observation to the staff and Residence Manager
- Attends meetings as required
- Formulates/implements treatment recommendations in conjunction with their staff and other members of the treatment team
- Delegates (and follows up) specific responsibilities and tasks to Child Care Workers for the proper running of the Cottage/House
- Completes any miscellaneous assignments as directed
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in direct childcare services
- Preferred 1-3 years' experience in similar position
- Computer proficiency in a wide variety of software applications.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of and ability to work with persons from diverse cultures
