The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist. The Speech Language Pathologist will provide comprehensive speech therapy services to patients birth to age 21. The Children's Home is seeking a therapist who would have experience in feeding therapy.
This position will evaluate and provide treatment such as speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive and / or deficiency in swallowing to promote the greatest amount of independence possible. The Speech Language Pathologist will be involved in implementing treatment plans by evaluating the developmental needs of all pediatric patients. The Speech Language Pathologist will work closely with the therapy team and all departments within The Children’s Home.

Essential Functions :
1. Must have the flexibility to schedule early intervention patients around inpatient and outpatient needs and maintain flexibility on evenings and weekends as needed.
2. Provides Speech Language Therapy services to patients of all programs and external contracts.
3. Speech Language Therapy treatment consists of evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, consultation, documentation, follow up and discharge planning.
4. Evaluates and determines need for augmentative / alternative communication devices.
5. Collaborates with medical team to evaluate and determine the need for adaptive feeding equipment and plan.
6. Demonstrates awareness and ability to implement Speech Therapy treatment following all necessary safety precautions for self and patient.
7. Ensure required documentation is completed for all patients within specific timeframe.
8. The treatment provided is consistent with best practice, evidence based practice, and adheres to all policies, procedures, and HIPAA.
9. Ensures clear communication between the therapist and patient / family or other members of the medical team.
10. Provides ongoing clinical education / support for other team members to support the philosophy of Speech Language Pathology.
11. Attends and participates in mandatory staff meetings.
12. Demonstrate independence in professional growth through continuing education or other sources such as workshops, seminars, etc.
13. Participates in the clinical education of students as appropriate.
14. Perform all other duties as assigned.
