Position Summary: The Director of the YES JJ program will support staff in providing effective community alternatives to out-of-home placement. The director will provide ongoing support, guidance, and input to further opportunities and programming. This individual will ensure efficient and effective operation of the YES program. The director is responsible for the development of services, quality of services, and for providing youth, staff and families with appropriate services available.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, supervise, and administer policies, procedures, and personnel to achieve program objectives.
- Comply with New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations and maintain a collaborative relationship with the county Department of Social Services.
- Maintain and enhance positive relationships with service recipients and other local human service providers, ensuring compliance with regulations and contract specifications.
- Complete required reports and documentation on time, ensuring professional presentation and adherence to content standards.
- Initiate, develop, and implement best practice programming, incorporating innovative and research-based trends, while continuously monitoring and improving programs.
- Attend family court hearings to assess potential recipients and initiate intake procedures.
- Ensure program alignment with the agency’s mission, vision, and values, while maintaining a safe and secure environment for children and staff.
- Oversee and manage the program budget.
- Respond to agency and funding source initiatives and participate in internal investigations as needed.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of juvenile law supervision and administration.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in human services or related field
Experience:
- 1 year of experience in a supervisory role
- 2-3 years of experience working with youth involved in the Juvenile Justice system
- Valid driver's license

Salary : $58,000 - $62,000
