A Preschool Teacher Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This position involves helping with daily activities, lesson preparation, and ensuring the well-being of students.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with Classroom Activities: Support the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and engaging students in various activities including art, music, storytelling, and games.
• Supervise Children: Monitor children during indoor and outdoor activities ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Prepare Materials: Help in preparing educational materials, setting up learning centers, and organizing the classroom.
• Support Individual Needs: Provide individualized attention to children who may need extra help or support.
• Communicate with Parents: Assist in maintaining open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the classroom and play areas are clean, organized, and safe for children.
• Assist with Meals and Snacks: Help children with meal times, ensuring proper hygiene and nutritional practices are followed.
• Foster Development: Encourage social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through positive interactions and activities.
• Behavior Management: Assist in managing classroom behavior and implementing positive discipline techniques.
• Administrative Support: Assist with record-keeping, attendance tracking, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Coursework in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting is advantageous.
• Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification is desirable.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift children, bend, stoop, and engage in physical activities with children.
