What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Assistant position at The Children's Musem of Green Bay?
Programming (50%)
- Design and lead on-site STEAM-based programs that enrich visitor experiences and support the Museum’s mission: 1) Daily early childhood programs, 2) Sensory activities, 3) Pop up programs, 4) Camps and classes
- Lead outreach programs at local schools, libraries, and community organizations
- Prepare materials and signage for programs
- Evaluate programs and educational plans as per museum initiatives and funding requirements
- Monitor and report program supplies inventory
Guest Services and Front Desk (50%)
- Assist guests with membership registration, check-in, and point of sale
- Ensure a positive and safe environment for children and families
- Clean and organize museum exhibits and props, Imagination Station, Celebration Room, bathrooms, storage spaces, and outdoor area
- Answer phone calls professionally
- Respond positively to guest questions and problems
Teamwork approach is required for all duties
Preferred Experience:
- Teaching or childcare experience in formal and/or informal educational setting
- Understanding of childhood development and age-appropriate learning objectives
- Ability to use classroom management skills to lead programs effectively and efficiently
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
- Ability to collaborate and be creative
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 22 per week
