Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Social Worker is a primary resource and contact for the patient and family throughout the patient’s stay by providing emotional support, crisis intervention, advocacy, and bereavement services. Documents all interactions with patients and families in the electronic medical record. |

Facilitates the preadmission and admission process with the patient’s family. |

Acts as a liaison between interdisciplinary team and patient/ family by facilitating communication, answering questions, and offering professional guidance during the inpatient stay. |

Ensures a safe discharge plan by collaboration with the patient/ family and various disciplines to address all aspects of the patient’s needs upon discharge. |

Follows the patient and family after discharge, ensuring satisfaction and continued support. |

Qualifications
Education: |
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred |
Experience: |
1-2 years of medical social work or case management experience preferred. |
License/Certification/Credential: |
LMSW or LCSW preferred |

Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA), a safety sensitive position is defined as any job that includes tasks or duties that the employer believes could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others. This statute allows Bethany Children’s Health Center to refuse to hire an applicant or discharge an employee in a safety-sensitive position, who tests positive for marijuana even if the applicant or employee holds a valid Oklahoma medical marijuana license.
