What are the responsibilities and job description for the Developmental Support Specialist (Bilingual English/Spanish) position at The Childrens Place At Home Safe Inc?
The Developmental Support Specialist (DSS) will provide at least six home visits to assigned family over two years to promote parental knowledge about developmental assessment tools. These visits enable parents to independently administer the assessment, which will identify developmental concerns during early stages. The DSS will also provide referrals and linkages to further assessment. (Bilingual English/Spanish)
- Conduct Developmental Screenings: Administer developmental assessments for children aged 0-2, utilizing approved tools and engaging families in the screening process.
- Provide Home-Based Support: Conduct home visits to deliver developmental activities, safe sleep education, and home safety evaluations to families with young children.
- Referral and Resource Coordination: Assist families in accessing early intervention services, provide referrals, and help navigate community resources like Healthy Beginnings and Early Learning Coalition.
- Collaborate and Engage with Families: Serve as a liaison between families and service providers, ensuring effective communication and support throughout the program.
- Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of screenings, appointments, and program participation, ensuring timely data input and compliance with program goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in human services
Flexibility with daytime and evening hours
Minimum of two (2) years experience in child welfare, primary prevention services, child development or related field.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Valid Floridas drivers license is required.
