JOB SUMMARY
This position assists in directing the overall leadership, strategy, and management of the Technology Design & Solutions (TDS) initiatives undertaken to support the vision, leadership, and goals of The Childrens Trust. The associate director of technology ensures the continuous delivery of responsive systems to ensure timely and accurate data to maximize financial, strategic, and operational goals. The associate director assists in directing and coordinating the planning, implementation, and integration of :
- Information Technology's budget
- Strategic and tactical planning
- Applications support
- Network and infrastructure
- Hosted services including, but not limited to, SaaS and IaaS
- User services (e.g., help desk, desktop support, training for internal staff and external service providers)
Business process re-engineering is an aspect of many TDS projects at The Childrens Trust, requiring the application of effective change management strategies. The associate director is responsible for assisting in the development of data strategies to include integrated data repository, business intelligence, report building, data visualization, and other related technologies as requested by the executive leadership. He / she carries out oversight responsibilities in accordance with the organization's TDS and data security policies and applicable laws.
The Associate Director of Technology reports directly to the Director of Technology and / or the Chief Operations Officer (COO). Work performance is reviewed by the COO through conferences, reports, and observations of results achieved.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises the Technology Design & Solutions department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervise, manage, train, coach, and mentor all TDS Staff.Serve as the organization's advocate regarding the role technology has in fulfilling the vision, mission, and strategic investment results of the organization.Assist in effectively communicating and building relationships with end-users to ensure business requirements and strategies are clearly articulated, understood, discussed, and addressed with appropriate technology solutions.Regularly assess end-user needs and satisfaction with technology to ensure excellent customer service.Identify e-business best practices and benchmarking to assist in the development and ongoing integration of information systems used in grant-making / funding / contracting and human services delivery endeavors for The Childrens Trust.Assist in establishing short- and long-term strategies for the management of data and information and the application of technology to maximize organizational effectiveness.Assist in ensuring delivery of appropriate training and help desk support to community services providers, ensuring their capacity to meet the funding application and contract reporting requirements of The Childrens Trust as related to the technical applications used.Implement industry best practices to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of data as well as the availability of critical systems and data.Assist in managing, publishing, and providing oversight of The Childrens Trust's technology policies and procedures.Assist in establishing information and data technology standards of system performance and security and implements the regular evaluation of performance against these standards.Ensure appropriate standardization of technology tools and systems, including database technologies, programming languages, and server / desktop imaging.Assist in managing and evaluating the TDS staff and team structure / skills to ensure an effective team that achieves The Childrens Trust's technology goals; to include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and counseling staff; and addressing and resolving staffing issues and concerns.Perform other projects at the request of the Director of Technology and / or the Chief Operations Officer.Perform other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience :
Requires five (5) years of experience in technology management (preferably in business intelligence / data strategy), SaaS, and delivery of information technologies in a related field with at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity; master's degree in information technology systems, business, computer science, computer engineering, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications :
Valid State of Florida driver's license.

Knowledge of information technology and best practices.Knowledge of social services, health, human services, and / or grant-making and funding fields.Knowledge of large- to medium-size deployments and system integration of business applications.Knowledge of departmental policies, plans, and procedures.Knowledge of modern office practices, plans, and procedures.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other job-related computer programs and software applications.Skill in planning and assessment of information technology solutions and financial management and budgeting.Skill in leadership including change management strategies, consensus-building, conflict resolution, motivation, and decision-making.Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing.Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to compose timely, accurate, and clearly written reports and documents.Ability to gather and analyze available information and draw logical conclusions therefrom.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, community groups, and providers.Ability to supervise the work of Technology and Design Solutions staff.WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are performed in a normal office environment with comfortable air temperatures and adequate lighting and ventilation. Tasks may require the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time or walk around various areas of the organization. The associate director may travel to off-site facilities for meetings and therefore must have access to personal transportation. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. May be required to lift up to 15 pounds.
