A server at The Chloe is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences by providing warm, engaging, and personalized service to all guests. This role requires a thorough understanding of the menu, the ability to anticipate and fulfill guest needs, and a commitment to upholding The Chloe's standards of 21st Century Southern Hospitality. The ideal candidate is attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about food, beverage, and creating memorable guest interactions, while also embodying The Chloe's core values, managing nightly sales, and being in complete control of all tasks, sidework, and maintenance of a section.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Service and Engagement:

  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and engaging experience for guests at the bar.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking beverage orders and offering recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, promoting guest interaction and satisfaction.

Beverage Preparation and Presentation:

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and The Chloe’s quality standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of all bar menu items, including cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits, and provide guests with accurate information.
  • Garnish and present drinks in an aesthetically pleasing manner, enhancing the guest experience.

Inventory and Stock Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by regularly monitoring and restocking bar supplies, including spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and equipment.
  • Assist in the ordering and receiving of bar inventory, ensuring proper storage and organization.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies or shortages to the Restaurant Manager.

Cash Handling and Financial Transactions:

  • Accurately process guest payments, including cash, credit card, and room charges, using the restaurant’s point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift.
  • Follow cash handling procedures and report any discrepancies immediately.

Cleanliness and Safety Compliance:

  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all workstations, equipment, and glassware are sanitized and ready for use.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service, and comply with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or guest incidents to the Restaurant Manager.

Collaboration and Team Support:

  • Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure seamless service flow and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in training new bartenders, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their development.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance the bar’s operations and guest experiences.
