A server at The Chloe is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences by providing warm, engaging, and personalized service to all guests. This role requires a thorough understanding of the menu, the ability to anticipate and fulfill guest needs, and a commitment to upholding The Chloe's standards of 21st Century Southern Hospitality. The ideal candidate is attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about food, beverage, and creating memorable guest interactions, while also embodying The Chloe's core values, managing nightly sales, and being in complete control of all tasks, sidework, and maintenance of a section.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service Excellence:
- Provide welcoming and attentive service to guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
- Greet guests promptly upon arrival, present menus, and offer food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the restaurant's POS system, ensuring all special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen.
Menu Knowledge and Presentation:
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including all food, beverage, wine, and cocktail offerings.
- Accurately describe menu items, preparation methods, and ingredients to guests, providing detailed information and answering any questions, especially when it comes to allergens.
- Offer apt beverage pairings to complement all guests' meals.
Order Management and Coordination:
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of food and drinks.
- Monitor tables to ensure guests are satisfied with their meals and service, promptly addressing any issues or requests.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow.
Upselling and Revenue Enhancement:
- Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest dining experiences and increase sales.
- Promote daily specials, seasonal offerings, and upsell premium menu items.
Table Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and well-maintained throughout service.
- Clear and reset tables promptly after guests depart to prepare for the next seating.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant, including dining areas, service stations, and restrooms.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service, verifying guest ages and monitoring consumption as necessary.
- Promptly report any safety hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to the Restaurant Manager.
Team Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with fellow servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure a cohesive and efficient service.
- Assist in training new servers, sharing knowledge and best practices to support team development.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings, contributing ideas and feedback to enhance service quality and guest satisfaction.
