Job Description
Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Perioperative Services, the Business Manager is responsible for planning, directing and controlling material resources and business activities to support quality services in the Operating Room, Central Services and Endoscopy. Oversees billing functions and systems, financial operations including profit and loss, cost containment policies and procedures, budgeting, product value analysis, and capital acquisition. Is involved in strategic planning and actively collaborates with the departments' management team, physicians, and other interdepartmental personnel and committees
Responsibilities
Provide support for data and cost analyses and identify cost saving opportunities.
Intimately understands the details of OR billing to assure proper and complete information is obtained to maximize revenues. Oversee charge capture and billing procedures and processes.
Create/Update dashboard to monitor performance and improvements in key metrics.
In collaboration with Director and Department Managers, assist in the preparation of budgets, monitor variance and make budget recommendations. Implement operational solutions to budgetary issues and financial supply cost improvements.
Represents the department on operational and supply committees. Provides support for data and cost analysis in order to identify potential cost savings opportunities (ex: Value Analysis Team).
Lead teams as it related to quality improvement initiatives. Improve processes, recommends solutions, and implements appropriately. Measures outcomes and utilizes data to recommend changes.
Develop and provide reports to Director and Department managers utilizing data from various surgical data systems to support decision making.
Insure proper inventory control measures.
Responsible for the management of surgical supply chain
Supervise and manage vendor visitation, supplies, space and new product evaluations
Assist in the development of departmental goals, policies and procedures as it relates to surgical supplies.
Implements new supply additions and manages physical space.
Facilitate project identification and lead teams to develop work flow processes through out the Perioperative areas, including but not limited to SDS, Operating Room, PACU, Endoscopy and Central Services.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
