Job Description
Primarily responsible for performing installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including : refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, light commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers and humidifiers. Troubleshoots malfunctioning heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems to determine the cause of the malfunction Performs scheduled maintenance inspections, and adjusts, cleans and calibrates various systems to assure proper system operations repairs wiring and electronic components associated with automated building management systems, replaces expansion valves, compressors, motors, coil units and other component parts.
Responsibilities
Understands basic refrigeration cycle to include : identifying components in refrigeration circuit, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the refrigeration circuit, using manifold gauge set, pressure / temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot. Understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging.
Inspect repair and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air-conditioning compressors receiver, condensers chillers water cooling towers, Ice Machines converter units pumps, automatic and hand valves expansion valves and capillary tubes. Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration systems and HVAC heating and ventilation units including boilers. Operate air conditioning equipment and make necessary adjustments or repairs as needed
Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and the controls including : thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, damper motors, relays, filters, BAS controls belts, compressors, heat exchangers, logic controllers, pressure controls, safety valves and automatic devices and motors.
Install and calibrate systems install copper tubing and repair pipes into being as necessary test joints insulate pipes a refrigeration and air-conditioning systems / tubes do you scale to being rebuilt pressure and temperature safety valves and water pumps
Maintain related records concerning time labor materials maintain log of tasks performed and write reports and order parts as required to perform all other duties as assigned
Perform skilled electrical maintenance work in the repair insulation alteration of HVAC equipment components timer motors and wiring systems as needed connect to mothers to control panels.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, welder, torch, vacuum pump test equipment. Maintain an effective and safe working conditions maintain parts and inventory
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (e.g. BSN required, MSN preferred.) :

EDUCATION : Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE : 2-4 years of documentable HVAC maintenance and repair and refrigeration experience. Works weekends, shifts and holidays as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE : Experience working with complex HVAC systems and equipment including chillers, boilers, package units, VAV systems (direct digital, pneumatic and automated control systems). Understands basic refrigeration cycle including and identifying components in refrigeration circuit. Diagnose problems in a refrigeration circuit. Must be able to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits and read basic wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings. Familiar with all applicable codes in OHIO manufactures instructions manuals. Note- Certification is required within the first 90 days of employment
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS & / or CERTIFICATIONS :
EPA Recovery Certification in refrigeration / Certification is required within the first 90 days of employment CFC Recovery Type 2
