Position: Pastor of Student Ministries
Supervisor: Senior Pastor
Level: Full time (Compensation to include salary and health insurance).
Mission/Vision Focus
Provides vision, direction, teaching, and leadership development for the Student Ministry in order to assist in the fulfillment of the church’s mission of Reaching Up, In, and Out (See church’s mission statement).
Primary Responsibilities
Student Ministries (7th-12th grade)
- Provide leadership, vision and teaching to Sunday evening student ministry.
- Provide leadership, vision and teaching to Sunday School ministries.
- Oversee the recruitment and training of adult volunteers to work with Middle and High School age groups.
- Plan and implement age appropriate activities outside Wednesday and Sunday Ministries.
- Coordinate fund-raising activities that support special student activities.
- Promote Christian service through age appropriate service projects.
- Encourage students to participate in all facets in the life of FAC.
- Increase involvement of student parents through regular communication, prayer, parenting classes, etc.
- Select and oversee possible interns.
Club 56 (5th and 6th Grade)
- Provide leadership and vision to the Sunday morning/Wednesday night Club 56 ministries.
Miscellaneous
- Preach and/or teach as needed and available.
- Serve as a leader in a community group
- Other ministry opportunities based on individual’s passions/giftings
Working Skills
- A saving knowledge of and a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Character traits of an elder as per 1Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- A working knowledge of teenage development and spiritual formation.
- Willing to be an active member of Fremont Alliance Church (FAC).
- People oriented with good communication skills: verbal, written and in presentation.
- Must have a growing knowledge of God’s word. Former Bible training/willingness to attain Bible training preferred.
- Must demonstrate a genuine love and maintain a good rapport with students.
- Must possess organizational and administration abilities.
- Must be able to recruit and motivate volunteers: can quickly discern suitability of person for responsibilities.
- A self-starter, needing little supervision.
- Dependable, responsible, accountable, and flexible.
- Must be ordained in the Christian and Missionary Alliance or willingness to work towards ordination.
