Title of Position: Lead Pastor (Part-Time)
Name of Church: Cornerstone Alliance Church
Church Location: The church is located in the borough of Dickson City, PA which lies just four miles north of Scranton.
Job Description: Cornerstone Alliance Church is searching for a part-time pastor who is a strong teacher and caring leader who can lead the church forward to become a disciple-making community and reach the unchurched. A transitional team will walk with the church through the process of discerning the greatest hindrances and needs in their church. After the elders and the church walk through that process a more detailed job description will be available.
Minimum Education Level: If necessary, must be willing to complete the Ministerial Study Program (MSP).
Minimum Credential Level: Licensed, or willing to be licensed, as an official worker of the Alliance
Minimum Years of Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a staff pastor and has successfully led a congregation to engage their community with the Gospel.
Compensation: Bi-vocational Salary
Church Size: Less than 100 Avg. Sunday Attendance
Church Setting: Suburban

Church History:
In February 2018, the Alliance churches in Peckville and Clarks Summit were presented with a unique opportunity. The Peckville churchs senior congregants were struggling to attend services in an aged and inaccessible building, and the Clarks Summit church had been without a pastor for several years and was in decline. District leaders proposed that the two churches pool their resources by merging the congregations and purchasing a new, accessible building somewhere between the two locations. After coming together for several months, both congregations agreed to form the new church, in a new building, in a new community. God was indeed doing a new thing! (Isa. 43:19)
In the spring of 2019, Cornerstone purchased their new church home on Main Street in Dickson City, PA, at the site of the former Gibbons-Ford dealership showroom, and began renovations. While this process was delayed during the COVID pandemic, on December 24, 2020 they received their certificate of occupancy and that evening they gathered at their new location for their first service, a Christmas Eve candlelight service. Since then, they have been reaching out to their new neighbors with the truth, love, and power of Jesus.
