What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Ministry/Middle School Pastor-Toledo, OH position at The Christian and Missionary Alliance US Church Ministries?
The Middle School Pastor will give primary leadership to the Middle School Ministry (6th-8th Grades) of Westgate Chapel (WGC). The Middle School Pastor will be responsible for cultivating spiritual growth and maturity through the development and implementation of teaching and activities that are in line with the Vision and Mission of WGC. The Middle School Pastor will report to the Student Ministries Pastor. The position is full-time with benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Spiritual:
- Must be a born-again believer through faith in Jesus Christ.
- Demonstrates a vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ (Galatians 5:22-23).
- Maintains a fresh and vital personal prayer and devotional life.
- Shows evidence of control by the Holy Spirit in all aspects of personal/professional life.
Professional:
- Must have 3-5 years of experience in student ministry within the local church context.
- Must possess or be working towards a bachelor's degree in a ministry related field.
- Must be in full agreement with the Doctrinal Statement and mission/vision of WGC.
- Must be licensable with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA).
- Must possess evidence of God's call to pastoral ministry with students (middle school).
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to teach God's Word to students in a way that is Bible based and relevant to their lives.
- Have proven experience in recruiting, developing, training, and directing ministry teams culminating in the strategic implementation of vision.
- Possess ability to inspire, motivate, and mobilize both youth and volunteers, leading by example as a servant leader.
- Must be a strong proponent of small group ministry.
- Believe in bringing the fun through events and retreats while not neglecting the discipleship of students.
- Experience in leading worship and development of worship bands desired.
- Stays current with student culture trends.
